We already have a lot of it booked up but we have a few cities on our route that remain open. If you are a church leader, venue operator, college campus minister or the like check out the list below and if we are coming to (or even remotely close to) your city email BOOKING@DAVIDBOWDENPOETRY.COM with “Poetry Tour [your city]” in the subject line. Open Cities indicate cities that we do not have a host in yet. Possibly Open Cities are cities where we are in talks with venues, but would love to hear from you too! Hit us up!
Open Cities:
Memphis
Pittsburg
Toronto, Canada
Chicago
Possibly Open Cities:

Remember, if you are not a church leader, venue operator, or college campus minister (meaning if you do not have the authority to book, pay for, and host a show) please do not send an email. The best thing you could do is pester your church leaders and have them contact us!
Thanks so much!

One day, Jesus decided to revisit earth. He got an apartment in a neglected neighborhood and worked a job at a local gas station. When Sunday morning came and all his followers were headed to church, he too made his way to the feet of his father. Jesus stepped outside his ragged apartment, found the first homeless ruffian he could locate, fell to his face and worshiped.
One day Jesus decided to revisit earth. He took the form of a modern day business man: suit, tie and polished penny loafers. As he strolled about the city’s bustling street, a begging vagabond caught his eye. Jesus was taken back by this man so severely that the utter shock of his appearance caused Jesus to stumble into the street almost blind. It was then that a passsing taxi struck the incarnate God, penny loafers and all.
Back in heaven, Jesus was approached by a small crowd of angels that had stolen away from their routine observations to watch Jesus’ most recent escapade. “What happend Jesus?” the cluster of angelics questioned. “You looked like you had seen a ghost!” “A ghost I could have handled,” Jesus replied, “but I saw the son of God on that street corner. A spitting image of myself.”
For the next several weekends I will be performing “God’s Valentine” at a number of locations, primarily People’s Church in Midwest City and Oklahoma City.
I wanted to provide a free copy of the poem to those who woud want it. So simply enter your email address and you will receive a free copy of “God’s Valentine” along with a PDF of the words. Thanks so much!

There once was a thirsty beggar laying next to a well.
A righteous man came upon him and had compassion.
Seeing that there was water in the well, the righteous man drew the full bucket up from the well.
Once retrieved, the righteous man delivered the water to the thirsty beggar.
After taking a healthy gulp of water the beggar said, “Thank you sir. Surely you are a righteous man!”
Upon hearing this the righteous man answered, “God provided the water from which your thirst was quenched, He provided the bucket through which you received the water, and He Himself even came as a thirsty beggar to which the act was done.”
The righteous man began to walk away.
“So what does that make you?” the beggar quickly questioned.
“Me?” the righteous man said. “I am neither water, nor bucket, nor beggar. For from Him, through Him, and to Him are all things.”
“So what does that make you?” the beggar repeated.
“Is it not obvious,” smiled the righteous man.
“God Himself also chose to come as a righteous man today.”
I came to the Lord and presented my gifts
“Lord, here is my tongue
I will only use it to bless you”
The Lord took my tongue and said,
“Your tongue I gave you”
Your tongue is mine
Present a gift
I did not divine”
I came to the Lord a second time, and presented my gifts
“Lord, here are my hands
I will only use them to bless you”
The Lord took my hands and said,
“Your hands I gave you
Your hands are mine
Present a gift
I did not divine”
Again, I came to the Lord and presented my gifts
“Lord, here is my heart
I give it to you alone”
The Lord took my heart and said,
“Your heart I gave you
Your heart is mine
Present a gift
I did not divine”
Finally, I came to the Lord and presented my cry
“Lord, what can I give
That you have not supplied?”
The Lord took my cry and said,
“You can give up that thought,
that ludicrous thought,
that you have or can give
anything that you’ve got”
-From Him. Through Him. To Him. Everything.
